Hobbies Can Bust Monotony!

Daily life can definitely become monotonous and humdrum if we allow it, and for those reasons, I am a big proponent of having enjoyable “extra” things that I incorporate into my days.

It’s also nice to have a hobby as a distraction when need be, whether from a demanding work project (perhaps take a 15 minute break and work a crossword puzzle), or from an intense conversation with a loved one (maybe find a quiet corner and catch up on your book or do some journaling or drawing).

Hobbies are a great escape, are a good way to relieve stress, and they provide something fun to look forward to. They are fulfilling, add meaning to our lives, and all while contributing to our overall well-being, health and satisfaction.

Extracurricular activities, interests, and hobbies are some of life’s greatest pleasures, and the list of hobbies that one can participate in are as numerous as stars in the sky!

Hobbies can be done alone, with a friend, or even as a group. There are even clubs that one can join where shared interests are done together, such as painting, writing poetry, playing an instrument, or cooking.

Hobbies can even change from time to time, or often!
In the past, I have had crafty hobbies, such as candle and jewelry making and making salt scrubs, to non-crafty things such as journaling daily of
what I’m thankful, promoting and selling plant based supplements, and learning various instruments. Some hobbies remain timeless for me, such as reading a good book, yoga, and walks in the woods.

Hobbies are not “guilty pleasures”; they are truly necessary to enhance your quality of life! Find one (or several) today, and know that you are doing your mind and body good! Who wants to do a puzzle with me!?
